Lady Macbeth soliloquy

Point: Lady Macbeth uses personification in her soliloquy that shows how dark her desires and ambitions are.

Example: Once lady Macbeth finishes reading the letter sent from Macbeth that tells her about the witches telling him about could happen she says “that my keen knife see not the wound it makes”

Explanation: In saying my keen knife see not, she is saying she doesn’t want to see what her influence is doing. This also confirms to us that she is going to do something evil and has evil motives. This helps us to understand that she would like Macbeth to become king which in turn means that she becomes queen.
